How to add Blogger SEO meta tags to increase the SERP of your blog
In this article, I am going to show you how to make your blogger blog SEO and search engine friendly by simply adding SEO meta tags to your blogger blog.
First of all, let me tell you something about SEO meta tags.
Why use meta tags??
Meta tags are like Passport to a blog. They let search engines know what your blog is all about and represent your blog to search engines.One of the most known and general meta tags are description keyword and title meta tags.
Description Meta Tag:
description meta shows search engines the snippet of your blog page or post.have a look at the image below.
look at the short description just below the Title of the page. the description shows what the blog is all about. Keywords and special phrases that target the audience are added to the description. This is very important for SEO and it increases the chance of your page SERP.
Keyword Meta Tag:
Keyword meta is outdated google doesn't work well with it. Google almost ignores it but some of the search engines still recognize it so it's better not to leave it.How to add SEO Meta Tags to blogger blog?
It is very simple to apply this to a blogger blog and any newbie with a little bit of knowledge can apply it on blogger.So let's get started, shall we?
First of all, take a backup of your blogger template.
- Go to the blogger blog and go to template and kindly take the back of your current template for safe keeping. That way if things go the south way you can simply restore your previous template.
- Now go to Settings>>Search Preferences>>meta tags and open the box and type your desired meta info of what is your blog all about. see the example
- Click on Save Changes and you are done.
- Now for post meta description, you have to go to the post editor and you will found a new option called search description. Type the description of what is your post all about in that box and save it.
- Now go to Template>>EDIT HTML
- click on anywhere on the screen where Html code is appearing and press Ctrl + F. A search bar will appear. Go on and type <head>.
- Copy all the code given below and paste it after the <head> tag.

Publish your post and you will see the description will appear in the search result. It may take some time for the search engines to properly crawl your blog for new snippets so you better wait.
